Stopped by today with suggestion by other Yelp contributors. We were not steered poorly. Helpful and friendly server...fresh salad and really yummy haddock dish. Glad we took your advice. If we come back in town, this will be our go to place for fresh and well prepared food.

I went to college in Lock Haven and this place is arguably the best restaurant in town. There is a Ruby Tuesday in Mill Hall but I don't think the food is even close to the food you can get at Stellas. It has an outside patio (available in the summer and fall) that makes the place even more appealing. The food has a greek emphasis, they serve turkey and veggie burgers for individuals looking for the sort of lighter burger. The menu at lunch can be a tad small but overall it is a good menu with a nice amount of items to choose from. In addition, the place possesses a full bar with a great bartender that makes decent dirty martinis. I can't speak for the dessert because I haven't had any of them. On Wednesday nights they have sushi night, which is something you'd normally have to drive 30 to 40 minutes to enjoy. Stella A's is costly (relative to the area), but a great gem in an area with very few eatery choices. Great food, nice intimate place, and good drinks. Fin. -Madd (@MaddMack)

Went there for lunch...They serve burgers, sandwiches, and sides. We had gotten the bruschetta as an appetizer the bread had just come from the oven then was grilled so it was very fresh. And the warm bruschetta was awesome. I had even sent a text out that I kind of shamelessly wanted to lick the bowl. erm...on to other things. I had the meatball sub with zucchini planks and my fiancé had an Italian cold cut sandwich, which the comment was made they wish it was larger just for the fact it was so good and they wanted to keep eating. Not so good for our diets. Bartender was nice and had seated us quickly. The wait staff also pleasant and the food arrived in a timely manner. They typically are closed on Sundays and Monday's if you attempt to go there on those days. Dinners mainly focus on Greek dinning although they also have "homestyle meals." I have heard that they were pricey but we had gotten one appetizer the bruschetta, my meatball sub with zucchini planks, my fiancé's Italian cold cut sub with a good amount of fries and two drinks which they kept pretty full for us the entire time there for only $22.63, which I found to be very reasonable for the amount of food we got. I will say dinner tends to be a bit more on the expensive side but you are getting a main dish, olive oil, peppers and triangles for dipping usually, a salad and or soup and two sides usually for the price so I think the pricing of 13 to 20 bucks for those plates ($20 the upper end for Delmonico steaks etc) is not a bad rate at all. I will most certainly make this a stop more frequently as it's certainly better food than fast food chains in the area and roughly the same price range. They do also have an outdoor patio to eat at. They do also have a kids menu for under 12. Here is a link to their menu and site, included is prices as well.......... stella--a.com

I came here on a Wednesday night ordered the tomato soup & two rolls if sushi. Everything here wasn't great but pretty mediocre and standard. I also feel like the tomato soup was missing something maybe some salt. I should've known better then to order sushi in a place like this. If I am in lock haven ever again I may come back but only over the fact that there aren't to many locations to chow down.

I went in on a Saturday night with 5 friends around 7 PM for dinner. We walked in and asked for a table. It was busy so they said that they'd have to see if they can find a table for us. While the manager was searching one of the servers told me, "You should really make a reservation on a Saturday night." The problem is that she was not nice about it. She was snarky and said it with a lot of judgement in her tone. She said it as if by asking for a table we were being a burden. Admittedly, we probably should have made a reservation but we were from out of town and picked a restaurant as we decided to go for dinner. Several minutes later they still had not sorted something out for us. The front of the restaurant is small so the 6 of us standing and waiting took up a lot of space. We were in the way of the servers. It was beginning to look like they did not have a table for us and we were feeling bad for interfering with those working and those trying to enjoy their dining experience so we decided to leave. I approached the manager to thank him for looking and to tell him we were leaving. When I told him, he said, "Yeah, because it will probably be a while." His tone implied that he was really saying, "Yeah, it's probably best if you do." It was passive aggressive and it really upset me. I feel like my review is not fair because I didn't really get the whole experience of the restaurant. I don't know how the service or the food is. I mean, the food looked good, hence the 2 stars but I was surprised how rude they were. They were not hospitable and it did not feel like they were really trying to accommodate us. If I had to guess, they profiled us as college students and treated us based on that assumption.

went for dinner. blackened tuna appertizer was good. a little soy dipping sauce & wasabi would have added to the hosoin decoration. calamari was abysmal. too much breading, & it seemed mushy. i am italian from nj. get better calamari at a pizza parlor. gf's scallops were very good, wish i got them. my shrimp had no flavor. asked for lemon just to give it some flavor.

Although the food is good, the service is rather poor. Have eaten there for lunch a few time and after an hour and half our food finally came. Not speedy service at all and they seem to cater to you if you "are someone special" in town. Not really my style.

My first trip to Lock Haven and looking for a place to eat. Stella A's was very inviting. The pita and sweet peppers they serve are fabulous! The house salad was great especially their homemade peppercorn dressing with fresh greens and a wonderful parmesan crisp served with it. I had a Greek dish called Pastitsio which was excellent! My server was very good. The manager came by to check to see if I was ok. I had a pleasant dinner in a nice atmosphere. I highly recommend Stella A's in Lock Haven.

I was starting to despair over where to get a dinner in Lock Haven that wasn't deep-fried. Fortunately Stella A's had a sign out front that read "Patio Open." I am a sucker for dining outdoors, and it seems like most greasy spoons don't have patios. So we took a chance, and I'm glad we did. The patio is a charming little fenced-in brick courtyard--that just happens to have a 10 foot tower of FIRE. I don't even know what to call it, but it was cool. The food was amazing--tasty, fresh, and reasonable portion sizes. I wasn't sure how to pronounce the Greek name of my dish, but it involved grilled chicken and feta cheese, which speaks the universal language of delicious. Or math. Or something. If ever I'm in Lock Haven again, I'll be back!

Well since this restaurant opened my wife and I have repeatedly said we wanted give it a try. My daughter went here with a friend and loved everything except she was hoping the pasta was home made but it isn't. My wife & I finally went the other day and we had a pleasant experience. Peppers with oil and tortilla triangles were provided for free. Not many but quite tasty. I ordered the Tomato Basil Shrimp served over Penne and my wife got Broiled Tilapia over Rice Pilaf & Vegetables. I got the Crab & corn chowder with my meal that was very good. Just needed a little salt & pepper. My penne was very good although a bit dry if not eaten with a bite of tomato. I got 6 extra large shrimp that were cooked well but unfortunately someone failed to remove the "sand vein". Polite name in my book. My wife's dish came with fresh cut sauté'd veggies which was quite nice, rice pilaf, and a nice sized fillet. Rice was lacking flavor and fish was a nice size cut but also lacked flavor. We visited on a Tuesday evening so the place wasn't super busy but the food seemed to take a bit too long to come out; most likely because of the pasta not being hand made. Over all the wait staff was great, selection was fair, decor was nice, price reasonable, but food needs a little tweaking to get 2 more stars from me. I will go back and am looking forward to visiting on their hand rolled sushi night. Stay tuned.

The food was tasty, waitstaff was really nice, owner was accomodating, and food was averagely priced. We had a large group of people, we were all trying each other's food, so we tried a good amount of food. The food was good for the most part. When they first seat you they give you warm pita slices with a dipping sauce and sweet & hot peppers. Very tasty!! We ended up getting six meals, a children's meal, one burger, and one soup. The meals: Choice Delmonico, Pork Souvlaki, (2) Phil's Special Chicken, Chicken Marsala, and Kota Meh Spanaki. The Delmonico was tasty, but nothing special, especially not for almost $25. Save yourself some money and go to the Save-A-Lot and get a delmonico for $6/pound. Phil's Special Chicken, Chicken Marsala, and Kota Meh Spanaki, all were disgusting (in my opinion) because they all used the same marsala sauce. The marsala sauce was very salty and tasted like the wine wasn't cooked out. The people that ordered the Kota Meh Spanaki and Phil's Special Chicken liked their food though, so that's all that matters. I ordered the Chicken Marsala, and absolutely hated the sauce. I asked if there was anyway I could get it a little less salted or cooked more to cook the wine taste out a bit more, but I was told that that's how the sauce tastes, and I was given the option to get a chicken parm or rosemary chicken instead, as they were the only other sauces they had. It leads me to believe that the sauces are premade, and that they can't control the flavor to such an extent. I'm not sure of that, that's just what I'm assuming. The Pork Souvlaki was amazing! I think I ate more of my Dad's Souvlaki than he did! It was the singularly best thing at the restaurant. Amazing!! The side dishes we tried, mashed potatoes, zucchini planks (deep fried zucchini), onion rings, and french fries (no cole slaw, they were all out) were all really tasty, especially the mashed potatoes and zucchini. The soup was a lobster bisque (I believe, it could have been a clam chowder, I don't honestly remember), but it was also tasty. The burger was I think a Boo Foo burger. I didn't taste it, but the person who ordered it liked it. Over all, the food's a bit pricey ($11 to $25 for entrees, $8 to $11 for sandwiches), but worth it. Stop in some time if you're in the Lock Haven area.

Excellent homemade food! Great family-style service. Friendly owners and bartenders. Hands down the best place to go in lock haven.

A group of my friends and I ordered lunch here. The restaurant sells burgers, cold and hot sandwiches, pizzas, soups, salads, Italian and Greek entrees, and desserts. The food and service were fine but did not wow. The space was spacious and clean. Prices were fairly low.
